There is no bigger home flooding risk than a burst washing machine hose. Fortunately, this common problem has a simple fix. Follow these steps to change your washing machine hose out for a new, long-lasting, braided stainless steel hose.
How to Change a Washer Hose:
First, you will need to turn your valves off.
Turn your washing machine on for a second and then turn it back off. This will relieve some of the pressure from the hose.
Take a pair of channel locks and loosen the washing machine hose. You may get a little bit of water from the excess pressure, but once you break the seal, the water will stop.
Take the old hose off and replace it with a braided stainless steel washing machine hose.
Hook the new hose onto your valve and turn the hose about a quarter turn until it is snug.
Turn the hose until it is snug on the washing machine itself, just as you did with the valve.
