Plumbing plays a very important role in our lives. It provides us with safe drinking water and ensures that we have proper sanitation. However, many people in the world do not have access to plumbing. That’s why each year on March 11th, the World Health Organization and the World Plumbing Council raise awareness of the important role that plumbing plays in our health and wellness.
How to Celebrate World Plumbing Day:
Fix Your Leaky Faucets – Household leaks can account for more than 10,000 gallons of water wasted every year! Save water and help the environment by taking the time to finally fix those leaky faucets and showerheads.
Install Water-Efficient Fixtures – Newer showerheads and faucets use water more efficiently. Install a water-efficient fixture in your home to help reduce water use at home.
Check for Toilet Leaks – Many toilet leaks go undetected. Put a few drops of food coloring in the back of your toilet tank. If the coloring leaks into the bowl without flushing, you have a leak.
Raise Awareness! – Many people do not realize how much of the world does not have access to proper sanitation. Share your new plumbing knowledge with your friends and family.
